Rain hits Harewood House tag festival

Over 1,000 youngsters were due to take part in the day long tag rugby festival from over 80 Yorkshire schools however the decision was taken early to call the event off when the grass became very wet with the heavy morning rain.

Commenting on the day Leeds Rugby Foundation General Manager Chris Rostron said, "It is such a shame for all the youngsters who came along that the rain got the better of us. If it had been any other day this week we would have had a great day but the weather is the one thing that we can not book unfortunately.

"On behalf of the Foundation, I would like to thank all the children, their teachers and schools and the volunteers who had agreed to take part in the event and we look forward to making next year's event even better," added Rostron.
