Commenting on the deal with the Rams, Head of Youth Development Barrie McDermott said, "Dual Registration is another way of giving our players the development they need and Dewsbury is a club we have worked with before. Both Brad and Liam will have a part to play in the U20's as and when we need them but their long term progress is the main priority. It is always nice to win games at 20's level but we aren't necessarily doing what's best for them if we keep them just for that sole purpose.
"I believe that in Brad, Liam and Stevie Ward we not only have 3 players who will have a key role in the future of not just Leeds Rhinos but England as well. The players beneath them are striving to catch them up such is the culture of continuous improvement at Leeds. There are more prospects in the system from the age of 15 to 22 than we've had for many years so that gives Brian and the rest of his staff the right quality with the right attitudes to deal with."
