Speaking after the game McDermott said, "I think Danny has changed his game in recent years. He has always had that try poacher ability but now he has so much more to his game and I think that is benefitting him and the team a lot. We invested a lot of physical and emotional energy into last weeks game which makes this win even more pleasing."

McDermott confirmed that Weller Hauraki had suffered a calf injury and he would be assessed after the game.
