Chris Plume's side found themselves behind in the first half, trailing 10-6 at the break. However, led by captain Brad Singleton, who inspired his side by example throughout the afternoon, the Rhinos produced a dramatic fightback to win the game. The winning try for Ward was just reward for a strong performance throughout from the stand off whilst Richard Moore pressed his claims for a first team debut with some outstanding efforts in patches, as he proved a constant handful for his former club.
Liam Hood returned to action at hooker and he played a key role when he came back on in the final quarter whilst Jimmy Keinhorst continues to impress in the centres, scoring the pick of the Rhinos five tries.
