He commented, "Luke needs to get some game time under his belt as our first two Under 20 games were postponed and this is a good opportunity for him to play at a level above Under 20s. We have done it as a dual registration rather than a loan deal so that we can recall Luke at any time if we need him and I am sure he will get his opportunity with us later in the year. He is very much in my plans for this season and we are in Luke's plans for his future."
Ambler, who is originally from Halifax but had never played for his home town club until last Sunday, said, "The deal works for everyone and hopefully I can help Halifax out while I am there. They have got a few guys out at the moment so when they come back in a few weeks, I will probably come back to Leeds. I am trying with the Rhinos every day but I hadn't played a competitive game until Sunday's game against Featherstone so it tested my fitness. Hopefully I will get better with more game time at that intensity and that will get me up to speed."
