If you're a budding singer with ambitions of performing on stage then why not get involved in this year's Jet2 Rhinos Factor and be within a chance of singing in front of a packed out Headingley Carnegie Stadium. Following on from last year's successful competition the club are once again on the look out for the city's best local talent and it's not too late to be part of this year's contest, with auditions for the final heat taking place this week. The Jet2 Rhinos Factor takes the form of a knock out style singing competition which sees 9 lucky stars compete against each other over 3 heats. Each heat winner receives a pair of Jet2 flights and advances straight into the final where the overall winner will receive a Jet2 five star holiday. The first heat of the 2008 Jet2 Rhinos Factor got off to a great start as part of the pre match entertainment at the Rhinos game against Bradford Bulls, with three young hopefuls performing in front of 19, 000 fans. The contestants on the night were 17 year old Rebecca Gemlo-Dunstan who performed We Will Rock You, 25 year old Beth McNeil, who sported a blonde wig during her powerful version of Son of a Preacher Man and 21 year old Llewllyn Stephens who stunned the crowd with his own rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water, which scored full marks with the judges. However, the casting vote ultimately lies with the crowd who texted in their favourite performance. The result was extremely close and saw Beth McNeil crowned winner of the heat with 38% of all votes and walked away with a pair of Jet2 flights. Beth now takes her place in the Jet2 Rhinos Factor Final which takes place on Friday 16th May pre-match to the fixture Leeds Rhinos V Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. If you want to take part in the Jet2 Rhinos Factor singing competition there is still time. We are holding auditions on Wednesday 2nd April 6-8pm at Headingley Carnegie Stadium to find contestants for the third and final heat. If you are interested call Helen Saunders on 07817 018 603 to register for the auditions and who knows this could be your first step to becoming a star!
