Victoria Asker (25), from Knaresborough, was unveiled as the first Tetley's Leeds Rhinoette at a packed event in Leeds this week. The stunning dance teacher, was joined by five other hopefuls at The Box in Headingley, having been short listed following a search in the Yorkshire Evening Post and on the Rhinos' website. The judging panel included Leeds Rhinos stars, Jamie Peacock and Shane Millard - as well as the audience at the packed out venue - as the girls paraded in front of the buoyant crowd and were quizzed about their Rhinos knowledge. Victoria can now look forward to featuring in the Tetley's match programme ad for the Leeds Rhinos first home game of the 2007 Super League season. Newly crowned Rhinoette Victoria said, "I was shocked to hear my name when the winner was announced. I couldn't believe it but I was thrilled to win. I have been a Rhinos fan for years and am delighted that I am Tetley's first Leeds Rhinoette. All the other girls could have been worthy winners in their own right and I understand it was a really close vote. I can't wait to get on with the photo shoot now!" Gareth Roberts, Carlsberg UK Sponsorship Controller, said: "We would like to congratulate Victoria on becoming the Tetley's Leeds Rhinoette. She thoroughly deserved it on the night, however, it was a very close vote and all the other girls were great on the night. The event was a huge success thanks to the help from The Box, and Rhinos' players Jamie Peacock and Shane Millard, who we'd like to thank for their time." The Rhinos stars also accepted a cheque on behalf of the Myasthenia Gravis charity from The Box's owner, Martin Wolstencroft, who has raised £22,000 in its support.
