It was a doubly bad night for the Rhinos at Knowsley Road with the Junior Academy losing their match up with St Helens 22-40. Like the first team the damage was done in the first half when Saints led 20-6. The Rhinos slipped to only their fourth defeat of the season and now must settle for third place in the table as they look for Grand Final glory. The Rhinos try scorers were Mike Ratu, Jodie Broughton, Ben Jones and Ben Kaye with Gareth Moore kicking three goals. It was the Under 18's third game in seven days, having had to play a re-arranged game against Leigh in midweek when the Lancastrian side were unable to raise a team earlier in the season. However, coach John Bastian will be hoping the youngsters can put this defeat behind them now and concentrate more on the nine game winning run that led into this game.
