We will be offering two strands of travel for the Magic Weekend.

Magic Weekend 2010 - 2 night trip

Due to the success of last years Dakota Hotel travel package for the MAGIC WEEKEND, Leeds Rhinos have put together a travel package for Magic Weekend 2010 which will include a two night stay in the Dakota Hotel, travel to and from both Headingley Carnegie and Murrayfield Stadiums, full cooked breakfast and some free time in Edinburgh on Monday 3rd May. The Dakota Hotel is situated approximately a 15 minute drive from Murrayfield. The hotel’s restaurant, which is very popular, has been voted Scottish Seafood Restaurant of the Year 2009, Scottish Restaurant of the Year 2008 and Scottish Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2008.  The rooms are twin or double rooms which are furnished to ensure your relaxation and comfort, with a Sony plasma screen TV with 65 channels, complimentary broadband and WIFI, in room dining service and air-conditioning. The price is £200 per person* for a room, (match tickets are not included in the price but can be purchased from Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office). The price will include the following:- 
  • Car Parking at Headingley Carnegie Stadium
  • Travel to and from the hotel and stadiums
  • 2 nights stay at the Dakota Hotel 
  • Full cooked breakfast

Coach travel – One day – Saturday 1st May - £35 per person (no discounts available)

This travel will be the one day coach trip whereby we will depart from Headingley Carnegie Stadium at 6.00am and return during the early hours of Sunday 2nd May. This trip will cost £35 per person and there are no discounts available. This means you will get chance to see 4 games of Rugby League all in one day! Match tickets

Please be aware that the Magic Weekend tickets are now available for purchase via Leeds Rhinos Ticket Sales Office. This year we have been given daily tickets (reserved seating (along the side), reserved seating (in the corners) and unreserved seating) and also weekend tickets (reserved seating (along the side), reserved seating (in the corners) and unreserved seating). For season ticket holders to redeem their 50% off the regular priced match ticket they must quote all their customer numbers or input their customer numbers online. The deadline for season ticket holders to get 50% off their tickets is 5pm on Friday 30th April. The year you DO NOT need to remove the credit from their season ticket. To gain access to the discounted prices you must input the customer number, add it to the order and then go into the Magic match – this will reveal the season ticket holder prices.

IT'S A NEW KIND OF MAGIC IN 2010

Fourteen clubs playing seven matches over two days at one special venue - the new-look Magic Weekend is set to be bigger and better than ever before when engage Super League heads north to Edinburgh in 2010.

Murrayfield Stadium will again host seven engage Super League fixtures over the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend, May 1 and 2, when fans will notice a few important changes designed to add to their enjoyment of a fantastic Rugby League occasion.
For the first time four matches will be played on the Saturday, starting with a clash between Bradford Bulls and Crusaders RL, who are coached by Odsal legend Brian Noble, and three games will take place on Saturday, the finale a mouth-watering showdown between St Helens and Hull Kingston Rovers.
After the Bradford-Crusaders opener Richard Agar’s new-look Hull FC will take on Harlequins RL in an intriguing match between two teams who emerged victorious from their respective games against Castleford and Salford last season.
Salford will not be short of motivation for their match against Warrington Wolves, who are likely to feature Richie Myler, the England international scrum-half who joined them from the City Reds at the end of the 2009 season.
The Saturday action concludes with a West Yorkshire derby involving Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. The engage Super League champions are unbeaten in their three Magic Weekend fixtures so far while Wakefield will look to do better than this year, when they lost 32-16 to Bradford.
Sunday’s action kicks off at 2.00pm with what could the closest contest of the weekend, a match between Castleford Tigers and Catalans Dragons. Just two points separated both sides in each of their two engage Super league XIV matches, the Tigers following up a 20-22 home defeat with a 24-22 success in Perpignan.
The next match will see Huddersfield bid to maintain their dominance over Wigan Warriors, who lost both matches against the Giants in 2009, before St Helens and Hull KR bring Magic Weekend 2010 to a thrilling climax.
Explaining the decision to play four matches on Day One, the RFL’s Director of Events and Projects Sally Bolton said fans could also take advantage of some fantastic ticket offers which will make Magic Weekend even better value than ever before.
"Many supporters told us they loved the overnight stay in Edinburgh on Saturday and would like to leave earlier on Sunday so we have taken the decision to open Magic Weekend with four matches,” said Bolton.
“Although there has been a slight price rise, we have also reviewed the seating classifications which means that many seats are now cheaper than they were last year.
“In addition engage Super League club season ticket holders are entitled to a 50 per cent discount which represents amazing value for seven first class fixtures.”

Stadium Location
Murrayfield is located in the West of Edinburgh, just off Corstorphine Road, right next door to the Murrayfield Ice Rink, and close to Edinburgh Zoo. It is named after the area of Edinburgh it is located in, Murrayfield.

Event Parking
Please be aware that there are no late trains from Edinburgh to the North of England on either day.  We would therefore encourage supporters to use clubs official coach travel for this event where possible. 
There will be NO on-site spectator car or coach parking at the stadium other than accessible parking for disabled spectators.  Any requests for accessible parking should be directed to the RFL.
There are a number of parking restrictions, for both private vehicles and coaches, in place around Murrayfield Stadium on both event days. 

Lothian & Borders Police have requested that all supporter’s coaches approach the parking areas as follows:-
• A720 Edinburgh City Bypass
• Upon reaching the Gogar Roundabout follow signs for the A8 City Centre – directional signage will be in place on the A8
• After approximately 3 miles follow the variable message signs
• As you approach the periphery of the stadium there will be temporary signage and Police to direct coaches to the Corstorphine Road parking areas
• Coach parking is approximately a 5 minute walk from the stadium
• NB  Supporters coaches should not arrive before 12.00hrs on Saturday 2nd May and 10.30hrs on Sunday 3rd May
• There is no charge for coach parking and passes will NOT be issued. 
 
Park & Ride

Supporters arriving by private vehicle should utilise the two park & ride facilities, both located to the West of the City, approximately a 15 minute bus ride from the stadium
The park & ride services commence at approximately 06.00 and conclude at approximately 23.00 both event days

• Hermiston park & ride is situated to the West of the A720 Edinburgh City by-pass on the A71 Calder Road, has 500 car parking spaces and a shuttle bus departs every 10 minutes and drops off on Gorgie Road at Westfield Road
• Ingliston park & ride is also situated to the West of the A720 Edinburgh City by-pass on the A8 at Edinburgh Airport, has 1000 parking spaces and a frequent bus service to and from the stadium which drops off on the A8 Corstorphine Road at the Ice Rink.
• Single fare cost: £1.20 for adults,  70p concession (children and senior citizens)
• Shuttle bus drop off points are marked on a map available to download from the RFL’s Magic micro site: www.themagicweekend.co.uk

Street parking is available outside the restricted areas – approximately 1 mile from the stadium.

Public Transport
For those spectators who are travelling from Edinburgh City Centre to the stadium there are a couple of public transport options as follows:-.
Lothian buses run regular services – for details of services and timetables log onto the Lothian Buses website: www.lothianbuses.com
There are regular local train services which run from Edinburgh Waverley and stop at Haymarket train station, approximately a 15 minute walk from the stadium.  For details of services and timetables please log onto the National Rail Enquiries website: www.nationalrail.co.uk
Spectators wishing to walk to the stadium from the city centre should follow the A8 (Princes Street) corridor westbound to Roseburn Street where the turnstiles are located. Approximately a 30 min walk.

Audio commentary at Magic Weekend

The RFL is delighted to offer audio commentary at all our centrally organised matches and now have a bank of 12 audio commentators, some of whom who are volunteering their services as audio commentators over Magic Weekend.

RFL is providing audio commentary at all seven games played over Magic Weekend. Blind and visually impaired spectators can book a receiver and headset in advance through the RFL ticket office – FAO Chris Burns ticketing@rfl.uk.com  You will need to provide your contact details and pay a £5.00 refundable deposit for the use of the receiver and headset.

Equipment must be collected and returned at the end of both days from the Ticket office at Murrayfield day so that equipment can be recharged for the following day.

If you experience any problems on the day there will be technical support available at the grounds and we will provide you information on accessing that support on the day.

STADIUM INFORMATION

Reserved Seating
If your ticket states a Block, Row and Seat number please ensure that you sit in the seat indicated.
It is important that you ensure that you retain your match ticket throughout the day, even after entering the stadium grounds, as you will need to produce it again if you wish to leave and re-enter the stadium using the pass out/pass in system or if you leave your seat at any time.

Unreserved Seating
If you have purchased tickets for an unreserved seating area then your ticket will state the stand and tier in which you are permitted to sit, once in this area you can choose from any of the available seats.
It is important to note that should spectators vacate their seats it may not be possible to return to the same seats at a later time.

Adult Concession Identification
If you have purchased a ticket for an adult concession (i.e. senior, disabled or student you WILL be asked to present relevant identification at the turnstiles.  Please ensure that you have appropriate ID with you, i.e. student union card, driving license etc.

Pass Outs
Spectators who wish to leave the stadium with the intention of returning later in the day, may do so but MUST first ensure that they have their hand stamped by a stadium steward, to enable them to gain re-entry.  Stamps will be located at the designated exit/re-entry gates.  In addition all spectators must also retain their match ticket. 
Ground Regulations – Full ground regulations are available by contacting the RFL or SRU.  In particular please note:
• Scottish Rugby reserves the right for its servants and agents and for members of the police forces or appointed stewards to remove from the Ground, any person who DOES NOT COMPLY WITH MANAGEMENT GROUND RULES AND WITH THE BYE LAWS of Scottish Rugby and/or, where applicable, the International Rugby Board, or whose presence on the Ground is or could reasonably be construed as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to other Spectators.

• No persons will be permitted to enter the ground;

o Whilst in possession of a controlled container which is capable of holding liquid and which, if thrown would be capable of causing injury to another person (an exception is made for sealed bottles of water and soft drinks ONLY up to a maximum of 500mls).
o Whilst in possession of alcohol.
o Whilst drunk.

• Any person doing so may be ejected from the ground and may be liable for prosecution. 
• No persons will be permitted to enter the ground;

o Whilst in possession of any article or substance whose main purpose is the emission of a flare for purposes of illuminating or signalling (as opposed to igniting or heating) or the emission of smoke or a visible gas and in particular it includes distress flares, fog signals and pellets and capsules intended to be used as fumigators or for testing pipes
o Whilst in possession of any article which is a firework.

• Any person doing so may be ejected from the ground and may be liable for prosecution. 
• All persons entering the Ground are admitted subject to the condition that they may be required to submit to a search to prevent unauthorised items or dangerous articles being brought into the Ground which might be used to cause injury or damage to persons or property.
• Under no circumstances is it permitted to throw any objects, whether on to the pitch or track or otherwise.
• Flags may be permitted into the ground on rigid poles providing the pole is of lightweight construction, i.e.  garden cane, 15mm (½”) diameter and is no longer than 100cm (3'3”) in length and that no obstruction or annoyance will be made to other spectators.  The right to refuse entry to the ground with sticks and flags will remain with the Grounds Management for whatever reason.
• Unnecessary noise such as from the use of air horns, radio sets and behaviour likely to cause confusion, annoyance or nuisance of any kind, including racist, foul and abusive language is not permitted in any part of the Ground.
• In accordance with the “Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005, Prohibition of Smoking in Certain Premises (Scotland) Regulations 2006” smoking within the seating deck and stadium concourses is not permitted.  Anyone breaching this rule will be asked to refrain from doing so and a refusal will be deemed as a breach of these rules and therefore the offender will be asked to leave the stadium.
• Standing up, in seated areas, to view the game whilst in progress are to be discouraged and where it interferes with other spectators,  the offending party will be asked to refrain from doing so, refusal will be deemed as a breach of these rules and therefore the offender may be asked to leave the stadium.
• Spectators are not permitted to enter the field of play at any time, before, during or after the match period.  Any person doing so may be ejected from the ground and may be liable for prosecution. 
• In the event of an emergency evacuation broadcast or instructions given over the PA system or by Police or Stewards must be adhered to.
• Dogs are not permitted within the ground with the exception of guide dogs used for the purpose of directing visually impaired persons. 

FAQs

Q:  Will I be able to smoke in stadium?
A: No.  Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the stadium.

Q: If I feel unwell during the event, can I get help?
A: Yes, we have a full medical team on duty for your safety and wellbeing, including first aid, paramedics and doctors.  Please contact your nearest steward, in the first instance.  The First Aid room is located at ground level in the South West corner of the stadium.

Q:  Can I take my drink to my seat?
A: Yes, but we would ask that you respect your fellow supporters when transporting drinks to your seat and while consuming them.

Q: Can I bring a buggy into the stadium?
A: No.  There is no facility for buggies and there is no facility for buggy drop-off and collection.

Q: Is there a baby changing facility available?
A: No.

Q: Can I bring juice or a flask of tea into the stadium?
A: Cans cannot be brought into the stadium as part of the stadium ground rules.  However, a relaxation has been given to plastic bottles of soft drinks and water of up to 500ml. Please note: the lid must be sealed and intact.   No alcohol will be permitted to be brought into the stadium.
For clarification, flasks are classed as a controlled container and therefore should be confiscated on approach to the stadium.
If you attempt to enter the ground whilst in possession of any of these items (cans, flasks etc) then these items will be confiscated and will not be retained by stewards for your return while you attend the event.

Q: Can I bring food into the stadium?
A: There are catering outlets throughout the stadium and therefore there should be no requirement.

Q: What happens if I have special dietary requirements, though?
A: We will not stop anyone bringing food or drink into the stadium under these circumstances, providing that any soft drinks / water are in SEALED plastic bottles no larger than 500ml.

Q: Can I bring rucksacks or suitcases?
A: Small backpacks are permitted however suitcases or larger items will be denied access.  A gauge of size, is a bag that will easily fit beneath your stadium seat. We assume no responsibility for baggage within the stadium.  Rucksacks or similar will be subject to a search before entry.

Q: I have difficulty using a turnstile.
A: Please contact a steward at the turnstile area who will happily assist with access through the nearest gate.

Q: What do I do if I find someone sitting in my seat, if there’s a problem with my seat or an issue with supporters nearby?
A: Please contact your nearest steward immediately who will be able to assist you or contact someone who can help.

Q: How do I access the disabled terraces (12A / 34A)?
A: There are three lifts within the stadium, one in each of the North and South stands and centre of the West stand. Please inform the nearest steward who will provide assistance here, should it be required.

Q: Since buying my ticket, my mobility has been affected. Who can I ask for assistance and what happens if I’m physically unable to get to the seat I have a ticket for?
A: We would advise that you contact our the RFL Ticket Office  in advance of the event if there has been any change in your circumstances. However, if this is not possible, please contact your nearest steward on the day.  We have a dedicated team within the stadium that will look after spectators with such difficulties.

Q: I am disabled – can I park at the stadium?
A: Disabled parking is allocated to blue badge holders on advance application only to the RFL Ticket Office – please email ticketing@rfl.uk.com or call 0871 226 1313.  There will be no access to the disabled parking area to supporters without the required pass. Those with Disabled Car Park passes must also display their blue badge. For reasons of safety and space, no boot picnics are allowed in the disabled parking area. 

Q: Do you have audio commentary?
A: RFL centrally organised matches now offer audio commentary for blind and visually impaired spectators (subject to availability of audio commentators). Spectators hiring the equipment will be able to sit wherever they want in the stadium and hear commentary. There will be a small refundable deposit for hire of receivers and headsets which can be collected on match day from a designated area, all equipment must be returned at the end of the event to the same designated area.
