Meet the Dancers

Nicola

Nicola B

Dance Captain

You must all know me by now.... I'm Nic - one of the remaining original Leeds Rhinos Dance Team dancers. I joined the team way back in 1999, so this will be my 13th season with the Rhinos!!!!! I absolutely love being a part of such a fantastic club and I'm as excited as ever for this season.

I had a break from the team to go to University in Liverpool where I studied dance at LIPA. As soon as I graduated I was back home and straight back to dancing with the team. Being a part of the dance team has given me so many great opportunities the best was being asked to become the captain in 2006. As captain I get to choreograph all the match day routines, I like to have a bit of fun with my choreography, I really hope you enjoy this season's stuff!

I'm really proud of the great reputation we have built throughout the years. I'm also really pleased to see that dance is now becoming an integral part of the club with the launch of the Leeds Rhinos Junior Dance Academy. The Rhinestones has been a massive success and will celebrate it's 3rd birthday in March, I now have well over 100 great girls coming to my dance classes each week.

Away from the Rhinos I like to keep busy! I'm a freelance dance coach, teaching in various schools and colleges throughout Leeds, and I also have my own company, Strawberry Split Promotions and Entertainment! For fun I enjoy shopping (a bit too much), going to the cinema and hanging with my lovely friends and family.

5 things I can't live without:
1. Mobile phone
2. Chocolate
3. Diary
4. Killer heels
5. Music

Christine

Christine

Rhinos Dancer

Hello! I'm Christine and I'm so pleased to be back again for my 13th (eek! Let's hope it's not unlucky!) season as a dancer for Leeds Rhinos!

I joined the Rhinos dance team way back in 1999 when I was at Dance College training to be a dance teacher. In 2002 I moved to Wales to work as a dancer for three years, but I missed Leeds and my friends and family too much so I came home, and was lucky enough to be able to rejoin the dance team, and I've been here ever since!

13 seasons on and I still love it, and have so much fun with the rest of the girls, both on match days and rehearsals, events and performances (as well as working really hard of course!) I really enjoyed our latest trip to Wembley and love seeing Ronnie fool around at matches!

As well as dancing for the Rhinos I run a dance school in Guiseley called Starlight Academy, I am also choreographer for Yeadon pantomime, and generally just love to dance! I hope you all enjoy this season as much as I'm sure we will, and don't forget to give us a wave!

5 Things I couldn't live without:
1. My iphone 4s
2. My car, silver 207cc (called Vivienne!)
3. Starlight Academy
4. My big lovely bed
5. My family

Claire

Rhinos Dancer

Hi everybody! My name is Claire and this is my second season in the Radio Aire Dance Team. I have been dancing since I was four and I absolutely love it!

Before joining the dance team, I was a member of the Pineapple Cheerleaders in London where I was lucky enough to do lots of great things such as perform at Wembley Stadium, dance for the BBC for Comic Relief and even travel to Abu Dhabi to perform in a shopping mall!

I live in Leeds with my fiancé and I am very busy planning our wedding for next September! I work as a programme co-ordinator for MoreLife, a company that helps young people and families lose weight. I love working for a company that helps people feel better about themselves.

I am so excited to be in the Radio Aire Dance team again. My last season was brilliant and it was great seeing the dance team on the telly! I can't wait to support the Rhino's through the season. Good Luck!

5 Things I can't live without
1. Cake
2. Cups of Tea
3. Wedding Magazines!
4. Holidays
5. Strictly Come Dancing

Hey! My name is Grace and this is now my second season dancing and supporting Leeds Rhinos. I am so proud to be part of the dance team; we all have such a laugh performing on the pitch and being able to support the best team in the league!

I have trained at many dance schools and have been dancing since the age of three. I am currently training at the dance school DM Academy.
Besides dancing I am also studying for my A Levels at a school in Rawdon where I have lived all my life. I hope to do well so I can study Sports Management at Loughborough Uni! I am hockey captain for my school and a bit of a geek as I am part of the school council.

I love to go out, get dressed up and party but cannot beat a lazy night in with my friends and a cheeky takeaway! One of my dreams is to be a Victoria Secret model as I love performing and feeling glamorous. I really don't like animals, feet and mushrooms. My goal this year is to pass my driving test first time! I am really excited for this season, come on Rhinos!!!

1. A milky cup of tea (made by my mum)

Kat

Rhinos Dancer

Hi again, Kat here…..It's season thirteen for me this year and I'm still luvin' every minute of it!! I missed out on a few games at the end of last year due to breaking my wrist but kept a close eye on how we were doing and made it back just in time to welcome the boys back after their amazing result at Old Trafford......What a great end to the season!!

As most of you know by now..............
I started dancing at Rhinos after seeing an advert for the auditions in a dance shop when I was 16yrs old and still at school - that really does feel like a long time ago now ………….enough of that I'm starting to sound really old now!

Since then I've supported the Rhinos at events such as the Challenge Cup / World Club Challenge…etc, I've visited many stadiums Millennium, Murrayfield, Wembley to name a few (of course the favourite being our very own Headingley Carnegie Stadium) I've seen plenty of highs and a few lows, all alongside our Leeds Rhinos boys.

After my A-Levels, at age 18 I went on to dance on Cruise ships and see the world. I did two contracts, one around Florida and the Bahamas and the other around the Med. In between I came home for a while and was lucky enough to be part of the dance team again.

I then had a few months out in Australia as my Boyfriend (Danny Mills) was out there doing a season of rugby league for 'Casino' in NSW. We had a great time and got some sunshine, but after experiencing life both on and across the sea when I got home I decided to put down some roots.

We bought a house just after my 21st B'day and I've been local ever since - once again I couldn't wait to get back to Headingley and back with the dance team!

Since settling down I ran a cleaning company for a few years and then changed paths again to become a Stylist at Karen Millen in Leeds. In the last few months I've crossed over into Jewellery and become Senior Sales at Links of London in the Victoria Quarter, which I love! Dancing is an added extra to my hectic schedule and I'm there week after week come rain or even snow and I LOVE IT!!! (Would be nice if we had plenty of sunny Friday nights this year though....he he)

The girls on the squad are all great, we have lots of fun at rehearsals. Training with the girls is without doubt the best part about being a dancer at Rhinos and with the buzz on match day - it's ace!
Anyway, enough of me rambling on… 'Good Luck to the boys! Let's have another great season!' See you all at the game - give us a wave! Big hugs Kat xxxx

5 Things I cant live without:
1. Food - I do love to eat!
2. My Dan - he gives the best cuddles!
3. My Family / Friends - They're ace!
4. My Bed - It's my fave place
5. A Good cuppa - cant beat it!

Kelly

Kelly

Rhinos Dancer

Hi, I'm Kelly and I have been dancing at the Rhinos for a few seasons now, although I have been a huge Rhinos fan for years.

A few things have changed since last season; I have given up work and returned to school! I am currently studying at Leeds University to be a Dental Hygienist and Therapist, so hopefully in a few years I will be taking care of the teeth of Leeds!

Previously, after graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Physiology, I began dancing full time. I was lucky enough to travel the world as a Dance Captain on a cruise ship, spending most of my time sailing around the Caribbean.

Last year I was found shaking my Pom Poms on the TV program Dinner Date - an experience that truly showed up my lack of culinary talent! Hopefully the boys will do better this season than I did then on the show.

5 Things I couldn't live without:
1. My dog Millie-Mae
2. My white mini copper convertible
3. My iphone
4. My textbooks, I know sad but all I seem to be doing at the moment is studying.
5. My family

Another year with the Leeds Rhino's Dance Team and I can't wait to get back onto the pitch, dance for all of you and cheer on our boys!

Alongside performing with the Dance Team I also teach at the Rhinos Junior Dance Academy - "The Rhinestones." We have kids ages 5-16 and they love learning the routines and getting to perform on the pitch in front of the crowd! You will probably have seen them.. they're great, right?!

Away from the dancing I have my own little baking business called Sweet Kisses Cupcakes which I started last year. I have such a sweet tooth it's not a surprise I love making sugary treats for any occasion! So if you are ever in need of a cake or cupcakes.. you know where to find me! Here's to another great season supporting our boys.. GO RHINOS!

Olivia

Olivia

Rhinos Dancer

Hey everyone, I'm Olivia, I'm so lucky to be back with the girls for my third year on the Rhinos Dance Team and I can't wait for the new season to start so we can show you our latest attitude and some fresh new routines.

Like the other girls, I've been dancing and performing ever since I could walk. I started with the usual ballet, tap and modern classes although I'm now competing in ballroom and Latin dance competitions and have been even since before "Strictly" appeared on the telly.

I attend the Edmond's Dance Centre in Kirkstall, and have recently become qualified as a student teacher in street dance. I want to do much more of this in the coming years. I'm in my final year at Boston Spa Sixth Form College, studying combined Sport and Dance as well as trying to learn how to drive in between my lessons - which isn't going so well! I've also just started a new part-time job working in cosmetics, which I absolutely love. Now that I've turned 18, I love going out and having a good boogie, as well as meeting new people!

I'm very much a local girl with a "Leeds... Live it - Love it" attitude. I was really proud of the way we won the Grand Final last year against all the odds - here's hoping the Dance Team can help the boys do it again in 2012... Yay Rhinos!

5 Things I couldn't live without:
1. My phone
2. Music
3. My Shoes
4. Lip gloss
5. Jelly Tots
