Charity Requests

Every year Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Rugby Foundation receive hundreds of requests for shirts, balls, photographs, player autographs and player appearances for charitable purposes. Leeds Rugby Foundation, the charitable arm of Leeds Rugby, manages all applications for charity requests.

Should you wish to make a request for your charity please click here to download the application form and send this back to andrew.webster@leedsrugby.com. Below are our guidelines regarding our charity request procedures, please read these notes before submitting your application.

Donation and Gift Application Procedure

The Leeds Rugby Foundation can only offer support to individuals, organisations and groups which share its charitable objects, which are:

  • To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for the playing of rugby union, rugby league and other sports capable of improving health (facilities in this clause 3 means land, buildings, equipment and organising sporting activities).
  • To provide and assist in providing facilities for sport, recreation or other leisure time occupation of such persons who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life.
  • To advance the education of children and young people through such means as the trustees think fit in accordance with the law of charity.

Examples of the types of activity Leeds Rugby Foundation can support

a) You’re an individual, organisation or group who is/are generating funds to repair/renovate/build/purchase sports facilities and equipment.

b) You’re an individual, organisation or group who is/are generating funds to assist with the recruitment and training of volunteers to organise sporting activity.

c) You’re an individual, organisation or group who is/are generating funds to establish or continue the provision of educational activity for the benefit of young people (purchasing new books for a children’s library).

Examples of the types of activity Leeds Rugby Foundation cannot support

a) You’re an individual, organisation or group who is/are generating funds too pay for end of season prizes.

b) You do not intend to use the donation or gift to fund raise.

Applying for a Donation or Gift

If you are applying for yourself or on behalf of an organisation or group, please follow the steps below:

1) Only individuals, organisations and groups who fulfil the application criteria (Detailed Above) are invited to apply for a donations and gift.Individuals, organisations and groups wishing to apply must complete the Leeds Rugby Foundation Donation and Gift Application Form (please see last page).

2) Only applications from individuals, organisations and groups who’ve completed the form will be considered.

3) Please ensure that you fill out all of the required details on your application and that nominated individual and contact details are clearly written.

4) Please ensure that nominated individual reads signs and dates the form before submission.

5) Please allow 28 days between the time of your application and your potential fund raising event or activity.

Application Rules:

1) Only applications on completed application forms will be assessed.

2) Individuals, organisations and groups will only be supported once per season.

3) Once successful, the nominated individual will be responsible to ensure that the donation and gift is used for the activity which is described on your Application.

4) All organisations and groups will be responded to within 4 weeks of submitting their application.

5) All applications need to be submitted one month in advance to their selected game.

Leeds Rhinos

  • Leeds Rhinos will give out the following each month to charities / organisations that meet our donations and Gift policy:
  • 30 pairs of Adult South Stand Match Tickets for any engage Super League XII Match except games against St Helens, Hull FC, Wigan and Bradford Bulls
  • 30 x Junior Western Terrace Match tickets for matches against Wakefield on the Friday 20th July or Salford on Friday 10th August
  • 1 x Signed Super League XII Leeds Rhinos Home Shirts
  • 1 x Signed Size 5 Leeds Rhinos Rugby Balls

Application Assessment

1) All applications will be assessed by the Leeds Rugby Foundation, General Manager.

2) Assessment of the application will include:

- Assessment review of APP / LRF / DG ensuring that all required information has been completed and that the information is clear and legible.
- Appraisal of the applying individual, organisational or group’s purpose and whether it is similar or shared with the Leeds Rugby Foundation’s objects.
- Assessment of the intended use of the donation and gift.
- Whether or not you’ve / your organisation or your group has already received support in the current season.
